Nail Cutting Service for older people

What does it do?

The Nail Cutting Service provides a basic toe nail cutting service for people who for whatever reason are unable to cut their toe nails for themselves.

The service can also provide fingernail cutting at your nail cutting appointment.The service is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and has to meet the required standards for quality and safety so you can be sure that the service you receive is of a high standard. The Nail Cutting staff can give you general advice about how to care for your feet. If you need additional support we can refer you to one of our many other services or assist you find the help you need.

Nail cutting is provided within the persons own home by trained staff and volunteers on an 8 weekly basis. Eligibility for the service is subject to assessment by an NHS Podiatrist working with the service.

We are unable to provide a service for people who have diabetes or those who are taking steroids or anti-coagulants.

There is a charge for this service; as  at 9th May 2017 the charge for the Nail Cutting Service starts from £13.00 for toe nail cutting.
