Admiral Nurses Service in Lancashire

What does it do?


Admiral Nurses are specialist dementia nurses. Admiral Nurses work with family carers and people with dementia, in the community and other settings. Working collaboratively with other professionals, Admiral Nurses seek to improve the quality of life for people with dementia and their carers. They use a range of interventions that help people live
positively with the condition and develop skills to improve communication and maintain relationships.

Admiral Nurses hold the Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) qualification with appropriate ost registration experience in Mental Health Care.

Currently, the majority of Admiral Nurses work within the NHS supporting people in the community. However, Admiral Nurses also work in other care settings such as care homes and in the community supported by voluntary
organisations.

Open to anyone who has served more than 7 days in the Armed Forces / National Service

Where it is available?

Local service (Fylde, Hyndburn, Lancaster, South Ribble, West Lancashire, Wyre, Blackburn with Darwen, Blackpool, Burnley, Chorley, Pendle, Preston, Ribble Valley, Rossendale).
