What it costs:

We will work out how much you can afford to pay towards the cost of these services, this will depend on things like your income, savings, age and disability. The maximum cost is £15.00 per day.

We will try to tell you what your contribution is before you start the service. However, if your care services need to start urgently, it may take a little longer. As soon as possible, after your Community Care Assessment, one of our Finance Visiting Officers will ring you or your carer to arrange to visit you to find out about your financial circumstances. This is to see if you have enough money to pay a contribution towards these services.

The Finance Visiting Officers will also ensure that you are receiving all the benefits that you are entitled to. If you wish they will also help you to claim extra benefits like:
Attendance Allowance
Disability Living Allowance
Pension Guarantee/Savings Credit
Housing & Council Tax Benefit
Income Support

How to access or apply for it:

Contact Health and Social Care as above

What to expect then:

Before you can receive a service, we need to carry out an assessment of your needs to see if you are eligible. This can be arranged by speaking to the Duty Social Worker at your local Social Care Office.
