Catriona Lumiste - Independent Financial AdviceIndependent financial advice for older people and their families
What does it do?
I do this in whichever way suits my client - in their home or at my office or by phone.
My particular specialisms are:
- Paying for care
- Inheritance tax planning
- Savings and investments
- Financial Advice for Disabled Adults & Parents of Children with Disabilities
- Retirement Planning
- Equity Release
I have worked in the Financial Services Profession since 1995.
I provide independent financial planning advice to clients, Professional Attorneys, Deputies and Trustees. My work involves bespoke financial planning and investment management designed specifically to meet the needs of the later life advice market so they can make clear and informed decisions about financial planning with their families. I am passionate about individuals receiving good quality financial planning advice and appreciate that it can be daunting going through the maze of options for retirement or planning for long term care needs particularly when so much emotion and decision making is involved.
The areas I cover are London, Surrey, Sussex and Kent. I can meet you at my home office in South Croydon, my office in Redhill or home visits can be arranged if appropriate.
I believe that to be an effective Later Life Adviser it is important to have a good working knowledge and understanding of advising on options for retirement planning as well as choosing and paying for care and I am delighted to have achieved the SOLLA Retirement Advice Standard as well as the SOLLA Care Standard to demonstrate these specialist areas.
I am a Dementia Friends Champion – I work with other Champions to create dementia friendly communities, improving the lives of people living with dementia. I run Dementia friends’ information sessions to help improve society’s understanding of dementia through five key messages from the Alzheimer’s Society and this is fundamental to reach their target of four million dementia friends by 2020.
I am a member of the Personal Finance Society and I am currently studying to become a Chartered Financial Planner. I am married with two girls and in my spare time I enjoy running. In 2015 I raised funds for Cancer Research UK and The Alzheimer's Society by doing sponsored runs.
