Show more "GRANTHAM CLOSE is a group of almshouses situated on a private road off the A275 in South Chailey which provide sheltered housing to people over 50 with little capital and low income. There are 35 flats, some double and others single.The majority of residents living at Grantham Close today will be of retirement age, of limited financial means and living within the vicinity of the Almshouse charity and are able to live independently. We welcome you to apply for a residency at Grantham Close.
Grantham Close boasts a detached residents centre which also has the office that is open Monday to Friday 8.30-4.30. Residents are always welcome to call into the office to discuss any concerns or just say hi.
Within the centre, we have a beautiful, comfortable lounge area available to our residents for use. Whether it be to visit to join in with some of the regular social events or simply just come and have a cup of tea, read a book or catch up with friends. A bright conservatory with tables and chairs and a view of a well maintained rose garden is reached via the lounge.
We have a well equipped kitchen, laundry room with washing machines and tumble driers. The lounge and kitchen can be booked free of charge should you wish to entertain family and friends. Plenty of private off road parking is available on a first come first served basis for our residents and visitors.
Our gardens are well maintained all year round and are here to be enjoyed by everyone. Some green fingered residents also have a hand in areas and some produce prize winning blooms." Show less
