There are twenty eight bungalows and fourteen flats, providing unfurnished, one bedroom accommodation for elderly people of good character who have a housing need.The properties are well built and maintained, sited in 3.5 acres of beautifully kept gardens. An ongoing programme of improvements includes the provision of level access showers.
Day to day management of the estate is provided by the Clerk, assisted by the resident staff - Warden/Asst. Gardener and Caretaker/Gardener. A Careline service is connected to each property, providing 24 hour emergency cover.
Vacancies occur at the Homes from time to time. Anyone wishing to apply for accommodation should have lived in the Borough of Chelmsford for at least three years immediately before applying.
Applicants for flats should be between the ages of 55 and 79. For bungalows the age range for applicant is 60 to 79. The Trustees appoint Residents primarily on the basis of housing need and applicants will need to demonstrate their particular need." Show less
