There is a large communal garden with greenhouse and some small vegetable plots. There are various activities taking place in the communal room which is also available for residents to use for private parties. There is an active residents' committee.
There is a local post office and general stores very close by along with a village butcher, British Legion Club and a pub serving good food. There is also a well attended local church.
