Show more "Work is now underway on a brand-new extra care scheme in Workington, which will offer 107 affordable homes and a range of community facilities, including an onsite hairdressing salon, restaurant and other communal areas. The development, situated on Lawson Street, will offer a mix of supported housing and social housing for the local community.The scheme will consist of 79 modern apartments of Extra Care housing, for people over 55 and with an eligible care need – there will be a mix of one and two bedroomed properties. The site will also include 28 affordable rent bungalows for people aged over 55.
Our extra care housing gives older people or adults with care needs, the choice to live in their own home with dignity and access to innovative, high quality and flexible service provision. Purpose-built, our extra care housing is an alternative to conventional care homes.
You’ll have your own private accommodation, in one of our schemes which cater for couples or single people. As and when your care needs change over time, so too can our level of care and support. This means you can remain independent and have the peace of mind that our dedicated staff are on hand to provide you with the care you need.
