The Merchant Taylors' Company Almshouses offer safe and comfortable homes for people in financial need, aged at least 57, who can live independently.
Our new building in Belmont Park is simply beautiful, offering light, airy and large one bedroom flats, each with a balcony on one side and a view over our enclosed communal garden on the other.
Merchant Taylors' is proud to have provided almshouses since the Middle Ages, first in the City of London, and now in Lewisham. The Company built London's first Almshouses in the 15th century and then in 2019, the Company unveiled the completed Christopher Boone's Court, a new development in partnership with One Housing Group housing association for 33 almshouse residents."
