At Monkswell Place, we offer purpose-built rental properties for people over the age of 60 or over 55 if you are in receipt of PIP (Personal Independence Payment) or DLA (Disability Living Allowance).Each flat consists of a good size kitchen, lounge, bathroom and 2 bedrooms with a 24-hour alarm service if ever you have an emergency. The flats also benefit from a door entry system for increased security.
The scheme is attached to the Olive Mount Community Centre and benefits from a wide variety of groups and activities taking place daily including bingo, afternoon tea, keep fit classes, bacon butty morning, German classes. Other facilities include an on-site laundry, communal garden and communal parking bays (including disabled parking bays).
Monkswell Place have dedicated Community Police staff who visit the schemes and community groups to ensure everyone is safe, there is also the local Councillor who attends every Tuesday to hold a in session for all residents and members of the community. There is also a hairdresser on site Monday to Friday 9.30am - 4pm. The flats are located in a very quiet area and face onto Olive Mount Gardens, where you take enjoy the weather and take a stroll. Monkswell Place is close to a number of local shops such as The Co-Operative which is a 5-10 minute walk away, there is also a Tesco Metro 10 minutes away. Liverpool City Council One Stop Shop is also located on Picton Road a short walk away. There is also GP and Dentists, a local library and leisure centre within a 15 minute walk but all can be reached on the local buses. There is a Scheme Manager Service responsible for the management of the building, security and communal areas.
