Show more "Above the Southend & Westcliff Community Centre is Shebson Lodge, a block of 16 flats that offer older Jewish people a chance to live independently but with the provision of 24-hour support if they need it.Of the 16 flats, 14 have a beautiful view over the Thames estuary. Most have one bedroom and all of them are a substantial size with plenty of storage, bathroom and kitchen. During the day, the day centre senior carer is on call for all residents in Shebson Lodge. At night a warden sleeps in the premises, so residents can feel safe in the knowledge that someone is there should they need help. At weekends responsibility is shared between a call centre and a night warden on site. Residents are welcome to take part in a range of activities at the Community Centre located directly under the flats if they desire - a great way to remain active and make friends." Show less
