The new building includes associated communal and staff facilities, consisting of a resident dining room and kitchen, a hair, beauty and therapy room, internet, hobby and activity rooms and a residents lounge. Separate assisted bathing suites have also been provided on each floor together with staff sleep over room, guest suite, quiet room and laundry facilities.At the buildings heart is a triple height atruim space which houses fully glazed meeting rooms, seating areas and each floor is given a different colour to aid orientation. The scheme achieves Code Level 4 of the Code For Sustainable Homes, and incorporates a Combine Heat and Power plant with high levels of thermal insulation, water saving measures and rainwater collection to name but a few.
