Extra care housing is a modern alternative to traditional nursing homes and sheltered housing. We like to think of it as more of a retirement village where you can retain your independence but have all the support ready and available on your doorstep if you need it. All of our properties are available for one or two people so couples can stay together.
You’ll have a spacious apartment adapted to suit your individual needs as well as access communal facilities such as restaurants, hairdressers, IT rooms and entertainment. We can also provide specialist support for any long-term illnesses or conditions you might be managing.
There’s a real sense of community at our schemes, where everyone is part of one big family. You’ll make new friends and have access to all sorts of social events – you’ll find bingo, cards and hobby groups are a regular feature!
We built Whinn Dale with the aim of providing a mix of residential accommodation and recreational activities, together with 24 hour onsite help and care to older people living in Wakefield." Show less
