Living at home can become harder as you get older. But choosing to move into supported living accommodation doesn't have to mean losing your independence. In fact, many of our residents tell us it feels like a new beginning.

Show more "Abbeyfield Tywyn is a sheltered house offering retirement living to older people who want to remain independent without the worry of maintaining their own home. We're fortunate enough to be located in the stunning Snowdonia National Park meaning we have the best of Welsh countryside as well as being close to the coast.

Tywyn is a lovely seaside town, and our home is close to local shops, restaurants and tea shops, the beach and the leisure centre which provides lots of community activities for older people.

In Tywyn you'll also find the Tallyllyn Railway where you can travel on a steam train through the remote and stunningly beautiful Fathew Valley in the Snowdonia National Park. Along the way you'll also pass waterfalls in the Merioneth Mountains which are oozing in celtic mystery.

Our home has ten single rooms and a two bedroom flat, where residents have their own private en-suite shower and toilet. The rooms come unfurnished to allow you to decorate it with your own personal belongings so you can make Abbeyfield Tywyn feel like home.

Abbeyfield Tywyn also has an onsite laundry room which can be used by residents and we also have a hairdresser room so you can treat and pamper yourself.

We have a wonderful large dining room where we serve delicious home cooked lunches and dinners made by our talented house manager who is often praised for her incredible cooking skills.

Our residents often love to sit in the conservatory to look out at the beautiful gardens that have been lovingly maintained and wrap around the whole of the house. It's the ideal location for sitting quietly, relaxing or catching up with the other residents or meeting up with family and friends.

Guests are welcome at any time and residents can come and go as they please - this is your home after all.

We have a fabulous group of volunteers who visit throughout the week and chat with the residents to offer support and help organise activities, as well as fundraise for special events." Show less
