Comfort, companionship and security

Living at home can become harder as you get older. But choosing to move into supported living accommodation doesn't have to mean losing your independence. In fact, many of our residents tell us it feels like a new beginning.

We 10-bedroomed residence providing supported accommodation for independent, older people. Our central aim is to help reduce loneliness and social isolation by offering a safe, welcoming community where residents can continue to live independently while enjoying companionship, home-cooked meals, and everyday support.

However, we are not a care home and do not offer respite.

Our residents have their own private accommodation (with a kitchenette, separate wc, washbasin), their own front door key, and are free to come and go as they wish. We encourage independence while providing reassurance through a Careline alarm system, communal dining, social activities, and a supportive environment.

Residents can arrange their own care package if they require assistance with personal care, such as washing or dressing, but we do not provide personal care ourselves and there are no staff on duty overnight.

Archer House was purpose-built and opened by the Princess Royal in 1986. We have 10 rooms and are ideally located close to Billericay High Street, local shops, transport links, and GP surgeries.

Residents also enjoy:
- Home-cooked lunch and evening meal every day
- All household bills included (including Council Tax and heating)
- Activities, entertainment, and outings
- Gardens and outdoor seating areas
- Volunteers supporting gardening and other recreational activities.

Accommodation is suitable for people who are:
- Aged 55 or over
- Able to live independently
- Appreciate having meals cooked for them
- Looking for the reassurance of a supportive community

The current monthly charge is £1,820 (as from October 2026 and reviewed annually), which includes accommodation, meals, heating, lighting, Council Tax, Wi-Fi, and all everyday household costs. Residents furnish the room to their own taste and arrange their own telephone service." Show less
