Our beautiful house was built in 1891 as a grand Victorian residence and now offers attractive accommodation in 10 spacious flats and rooms. Each flat or room has its own en-suite bathroom facility, with separate kitchen area complete with fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster to enable residents to prepare their own breakfast and snacks if required. Our rooms are fully furnished in neutral colours complete with carpets and curtains, however residents can bring their own furniture if they so wish, to help them feel completely at home. Abbeyfield House has a beautiful residents lounge which is shown on our website page, along with a comfortable and bright dining room where residents are served lunch and tea every day, enabling them to chat to other residents and staff. The house also provides a secluded paved garden area with attractive pots and comfortable chairs to sit outside in warmer weather.
The staff at Abbeyfield House, Barnard Castle are all experienced, extremely dedicated and caring and we have a very low turnover of staff. Our fantastic staff treat residents like family members due to the fact we only have 10 flats/rooms and this helps to create a warm and family atmosphere and the ability to know our residents and their families particularly well. Staff visit each resident every morning and again in the afternoon to check to see if they need anything or want to chat. Every resident also has their laundry washed and ironed regularly by us and resident's rooms are deep cleaned by our housekeeping assistants.
We would be delighted if you would like to visit us! Prospective residents are encouraged to come and stay with us for a 'Guest Stay' period of up to 1 month. Please contact us on 01833 638474 to arrange a visit or email abbeyfieldbc@gmail.com to make an appointment." Show less
