Imagine well-tended gardens, quiet seclusion, places to walk, places to sit, views that sustain and space to breathe.
Imagine magnificent and spacious reception rooms - one with wood paneled walls, an open fire in winter and comfy chairs whatever the time of year. Or another with floor-to-ceiling bay windows looking out onto the grounds where birds, squirrels, rabbits and foxes create a marvelous spectacle throughout the day.
Iden Manor is that place: an impressively spacious, light and airy Victorian mansion set in 15 acres of landscaped grounds and approached by a long leafy drive.
And yet despite the grandeur of the building, it offers a warm and familiar welcome and has a comfortable, lived-in-and-loved feel to it…
With up to 51 beds, it provides a lovely home for both single people and couples. Each and every bedroom is different and full of personality; most are furnished with treasured pieces brought from home, and many have en-suite bathrooms or wet rooms.
There is also a hairdressing salon and a laundry room - and plenty of additional bathrooms .
Adding to the charm and grandeur of the building, a wide staircase with impressive balustrade rises from the paneled reception room below - there's a chairlift for those less able to walk - and an adjoining lift for those who need to use a wheelchair.
Within Iden Manor here are two distinct units to cater for the very distinct needs of our residents - The Iden Side and The Good Shepherd.
The Iden Side
This is situated in the original part of the mansion. It is designed for elderly people who are becoming frail but who, though they increasingly need support, may still have a degree of independence and certainly the desire and intention to live their life to the full as they choose.
Residents here have access to the wider grounds that surround the house and many people enjoy spending time in the gardens. In addition to their own sizeable bedroom (which they can personalise as they choose), they have a choice of reception rooms - deliberately designed to be of varying character and atmosphere - and a small library. The dining room is spacious and bright - it too looks out over the wonderful grounds.
The Good Shepherd
Positioned adjacent to The Iden Side, this is a tailored unit designed specifically for Dementia patients and thus focused on providing the safety, comfort and security which encourages happiness and contentment. With a ratio of 19 residents to 4.5 carers, residents can be given the focus and attention they need.
In addition to individual bedrooms, The Good Shepherd also has communal living and dining areas, as well as numerous additional bathroom facilities. It also has two secure garden areas for those residents who enjoy spending time outside." Show less
