The home is dedicated to caring for adults living with dementia, from early onset to more complex end-of-life needs, the home provides all types of dementia care including nursing, residential, Parkinson’s and short-stay care.The home has its own dementia champions who work to improve the quality of life for residents through daily activities and opportunities for reminiscence and stimulation. Furthermore, everything at St George’s is on one floor, making it easier for residents to find their way around. The home’s interior has been decorated to suit individuals with dementia, being colour-themed and including memory triggers.
The home has a home for home atmosphere, pleasant communal areas, and secure well-maintained courtyard garden, it provides a relaxing living environment. The home also benefits from its on-site pub, hairdressers and tea hut for all to enjoy.
All bedrooms have en-suite facilities, the majority lead out to the garden or courtyard area and all come with a 24-hour call system.
Enjoying food is an important part of life. The chefs create well-crafted menus made with the freshest ingredients. Soon after a resident arrives at St George’s, staff discuss their personal preferences and dietary needs with them.
There’s a real sense of community at the home. The staff work to discover what residents enjoy doing and the home's social calendar is organised around those interests. So whether loved ones already have a hobby or would like to take up a new one, there are lots of exciting activities to get involved in. Anyone is welcome to pop in and join in.
