The house was originally built in 1872. The front of the building faces Wyndley Lane, which was the only road (now a footpath) to Manor Road, the main route between the Town centre and Sutton Park before the road to Town Gate was built. It was some time after that Somerville Rd was built and named after the then owner of the land.
In recent years, time and attention has been given to restoring the outside of the building, maintaining the architectural appearance of the period and giving the Home a fresh life. The inside has also received a lot of attention. The interior has been re-decorated to a high standard by our full-time interior decorator.
We have recently extended the building with new state of the art single en-suite bedrooms, some having fantastic views of the lake and Sutton Park. The gardens have been re-landscaped to provide an unrivalled environment, whether you would like to sit by the ‘log cabin’ overlooking the lake or sit and admire the park wildlife and flowers in the conservation area."
