Abbotsford House was bought in 1989 by Mr Surjit Sokhi and Doctor Caroline Sokhi. The Sokhi's wanted to convert this mansion in the heart of Bearsden into a care home, in order to offer a quality service to the ageing community.20 years on, and the business is still very much a family one, with Mr and Doctor Sokhi still owning Abbotsford House and running the care home through their company, namely Morrison Community Care Limited. In addition, 2011 has seen the introduction of their son Paul Sokhi into the business as the Business Development Manager. The Sokhi's ethos, over the last 20 years, has always been to provide quality care in a home like place. As such, the care homes that the Sokhi's have run have always been conversions rather than new builds, in order to keep that home like feel.
