The cost of renovating and modernising the existing building in 1989 would have been prohibitively expensive. Instead, an entirely new three-storey Home was built within the existing grounds, designed and equipped to care for 33 residents (extended in 2005 to accommodate 41). In a move that blended personal independence with community living, residents each have their own en suite room and a nurse-call system but each of four “family groups” share a dining room/lounge with a kitchen area. While main meals are prepared in a central kitchen, snacks and drinks can be prepared at any time in the group kitchens." Show less
