Show more "On becoming part of the Kingdom Homes Ltd group of nursing and residential care homes, Fernlea House Residential Care Home in Cardenden was extensively refurbished to ensure it met the high standards demanded by Kingdom Homes.Originally a house built in the early 1900's, Fernlea has seen two major extensions to the original building since being converted to a care home, the first in 2001 and the second in 2004 when it was refurbished and redecorated throughout.
Fernlea House has 34 large single rooms and two large double rooms for couples, all of which have en-suite toilet and shower facilities. During a further recent major refurbishment programme the care home was fitted with swing-free door closers which are linked to the fire detection system, and a sprinkler system was installed to all areas. These upgrades underline the priority that Kingdom Homes Ltd place on the safety of each and every resident.
All Fernlea's public rooms, including the lounges and dining areas, are on the ground floor, with access to the mature garden areas via patio doors where residents can take a stroll or simply sit and enjoy the fresh air and flowers. Bedrooms on the upper floor are accessed by a lift." Show less
