The home is under going a full refurbishment, starting with the upstairs we have recently completed a specialized dementia unit with a sensory garden in the grounds of the home, moving on to downstairs where there will be 13 bed residential unit, complete with its own hairdressers and activities room including a bar facility, due for completion end of August 2016. Then on to the end of life unit which will have eight beds, plus relatives lounge, and separate outside paved gardens, and facilities for relatives to stay over night. It aims to be more than just a standard care facility as it strives to make each resident's home, a place where they can retain independence, personal freedom and live out their lives with enjoyment and fulfilment. The staff have many years of experience providing care to older people in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, where all services are designed to ensure that care home residents are happy and that they individual care needs are met. Care workers treat all residents as they would wish to be treated themselves and believe that, while old age, dementia or confusion might mean they can no longer live alone, it should not mean any loss of privacy, dignity or respect.
