Show more "Originally opened in 1985 by Princess Anne, Abbeyfield House Alnwick is a purpose built house designed to create a comfortable atmosphere for older people. All bedrooms are on the ground floor allowing easy access with a relaxing lounge where you can enjoy time getting to know other residents. There are plenty of communal spaces in which to spend time such as the dining room, television lounge with Sky TV, conservatory or the beautiful prize winning gardens. There is a raised bed so that residents of all abilities can enjoy helping with the gardening - and the House itself is wheelchair accessible.The House is Situated just off the main road of the historical town of Alnwick with the centre just a short walk away. Easily accessed by car and just a 20 minute drive from Newcastle.
For our residents there are weekly mini-bus outings to local attractions and landmarks, gardening and regular events and activites to get involved in if they wish.
All rooms in Abbeyfield House have been recently refurbished; 14 have ensuite facilities and 11 standard bathrooms." Show less
