Please note that the apartments do not have kitchens.Each spacious apartment benefits from exceptional views over our award-wining 48-acre private country estate and offers a spacious ensuite wet-room and access to 24-hour on-site nursing care. Some have separate bedroom and living areas, others have private entrance halls adding to that homely feeling, but all have a wonderful feeling of space and light. One special apartment has a large ground-floor terrace which faces the main garden and is accessed by the original front door of Birtley House, while another even has a small second bedroom for a study. Some have cleverly built-in storage to maximise all spaces, and some feature stunning antique fireplaces and original architecture which has been protected throughout the house wherever possible.
Needless to say these apartments are packed with character and are ready to be furnished by the occupier, making them the perfect home to help to ease any transition into long-term care.
Apart from the physical features, the beauty in the concept of these apartments is that they come with 24-hour nursing care. Over time, the cost can actually be lower than for a regular nursing home room due to the initial purchase. This debenture purchase is returned once the apartment is sold on to the next occupant.
Currently, available apartments start from £340,000 plus your monthly care costs, the price varying depending upon the size and unique characteristics of each. Although there are a total of 14 apartments within Birtley House, there are only two such apartments presently vacant.
