What does it do?

We provide a range of free services that promote independence and help you to maintain or improve your quality of life and prevent you from needing increasing levels of support.

We help you to understand and use available social care and health services.

The Independent Living and Carers' Partnership is made up of four local organisations: Age UK Lambeth, Disability Advice Service Lambeth, Crossroads Care South Thames (Carers' Hub) and Lambeth Mencap

Our staff have the skills and knowledge to support you whatever your needs. We will enable you to understand your options so that you can make the best choices.

ILCP services

Enquiry Line a comprehensive information and advice service on a wide range of subjects including welfare benefits, housing, health and social care, transport, consumer rights, social & leisure activities, financial management & tax, debt and utilities.

Professional Advocacy support for people with difficulties speaking up and being involved in life decisions including community care, health, housing, accessing legal advice, making complaints and keeping safe from abuse. We also support those eligible under the Care Act 2014 advocacy duties.

Direct Payments support with personal budgets and personal health budgets for people who wish to arrange their own care and support or that of the person they care for. We also offer advice to self-funders.

Advice and Support face-to-face appointments to give advice, assistance and information on benefits, housing, community care and other issues.

The Royal Association for Deaf People provides a weekly information, advice and support surgery for deaf people.

Community Development outreach work across the borough to initiate change and improve services for people within their communities.

Volunteer Befriending for older people who may feel socially isolated and lonely. We match each individual applicant with a suitable volunteer who visits their home for at least one hour a week to keep them company and have a chat.

Carers' Hub a range of services to support people in a caring role. A carer looks after their child, partner, relative or friend because they are ill, frail or have a disability and would not be able to manage on their own.

Young Carers Project for young people (5-18 years) who live in Lambeth and are caring for or helping to care for a family member who has a disability or long-term illness. We provide a regular programme of groups and activities after school, at weekends and during school holidays.
