At Shaftesbury House we offer purpose-built rental properties for people over the age of 60 or over 55 if you are in receipt of PIP (Personal Independence Payment) or DLA (Disability Living Allowance).Each flat consists of a kitchen, lounge, bathroom and bedroom with a 24-hour alarm service if ever you have an emergency. There are 26 single occupancy flats and 10 double occupancy flats over 2 floors. Shaftesbury House offers a wide range of facilities, including a communal lounge and fully equipped kitchen, communal hair salon, on-site laundry facilities, communal parking bays and a guest room for visitors.
The scheme is set in large attractive and well maintained gardens which are well established. It is located in a very quiet area which includes a lovely park with a bowls club, close to the busy town centre which houses banks, shops, a shopping centre and markets 4 days a week as well as coffee shops, bars and restaurants. There is a Retail Park nearby which has some major shops, DIY stores and the local football club is also close by. The scheme is on the major bus routes, with a stop at the end of the drive. This means residents can access the larger towns and cities near by including Northampton and Kettering which both have general hospitals. Whilst there are local hairdressers' within the town, we have a mobile hairdressers who are fully qualified and insured all of whom visit the scheme regularly and are happy to use the salon or even do your hair in residents' flats. The GP surgeries, dentists and podiatrist's are all close by and can be easily accessed by walking or public transport which includes a local volunteer medical car scheme this costs a fraction of the price of a taxi and can be joined easily.
