Show more " The Dyers' Almshouses consi of 28 terraced bungalows laid out on three sides of a square in 2½ acres of grounds in the centre of Crawley. Each almshouse has a sitting room, bedroom, kitchen and bathroom, and its own allotment size garden at the rear. There is also a communal room used for activities and small events. A resident Manager (non-medical) is available during usual office hours to deal assist residents. Master keys are held by the Manager in case of emergency each house is also equipped with an emergency call system.The Almshouses are run by a registered charity, and residents must be retired persons of limited financial means. Details of the applicant's financial circumstances are requested as part of the application process. Preference is given to Freemen or Liverymen of the Dyers Company, or their widows. Prospective residents must be in reasonable health, and be capable of independent living at the time of taking up residence, as no medical care is provided by the charity. We regret that no pets or children are allowed to reside at the Almshouses." Show less
