You have your own self-contained flat within a scheme of similar self-containedflats, plus communal facilities, such as lounge, laundry and garden.
Each flat is connected to an emergency warden call system, which is linked to your scheme manager or to an out of hours emergency service. The sheltered scheme manager will make regular checks on you to ensure you are all right. She will help you with things such as benefit claims, making medical appointments, social activities in the scheme. Her role is to encourage and support you to be independent and healthy. She does not provide personal care such as cleaning or cooking.
