The person centred approach undertaken by management and staff at Salisbury House involves contributions from the individual resident, their family and health care professionals. This allows us to implement a comprehensive care plan eabling us to maximise the residents independence and dignity at all times. The quality of service is based upon the continuity, training, and personal development of highly committed and carefully chosen staff. We have a very low staff turnover which allows for lasting relationships between staff and residents. This makes for a reassuring and happy environment for our residents. Our catering team provide a nutricious and diverse menu to suit alll tastes and also cater for any special dietary requirements that may be needed. We regularly review the menus with residents input and liaise with the kitchen staff to provide a good wholesome healthy eating plan and a varied choice of menu. We always use fresh fruit and vegetables and the best quality meats and fresh fish. We strive to maintain this good working practice as we see meal time as a good social base for all our clients to interact with each other.
We have a stimulating activity programme with a diverse range of activities for all our clients to enjoy, taking into consideration their individual needs and tastes. We employ two Activities Co-ordinators who provide a varied timetable of activities to all residents and encourage them to take part in all activities. The activities are designed to encourage and maintain good social and communication skills. We hold seasonal fayres and regular coffee afternoons which enable our residents to feel part of the wider community. As you can see from our photographs, we unveiled our new minibus in 2010. We take our residents on weekly outings to local tea dances, theatre shows, narrow boat trips, and local places of interest. Residents often say these trips are the highlight of their week. We do feel that we go above and beyond the national standards of care required of a care home and we do provide a happy and fun environment." Show less
