The criteria to apply for this housing is people over 50 - or younger with a physical or mental health issue which staff can assist with. Places for People Later life can usually provide support to people with various problems including visual impairment/ hearing impairment/ low to moderate memory problems and mobility problems mental health problems and complex needs. Each person is individually assessed for their needs, and each person would be assisted to find alternative support if their needs were found to be too high for independent living. The service consists of 31 self-contained flats and the customers are from all cultures & ethnicities with a large proportion suffering with mental health issues. All flats consist of separate lounge/ bedroom/ kitchen/ bathroom. All rooms have pull cords for your safety and a pendent alarm is available for you if you require one. All flats have front door security. Our on scheme Housing and Wellbeing Advisor is on site Monday to Friday 8.00 - 3.30 to support you with sustaining your tenancy, safety and wellbeing. Outside of these times you can contact our support centre 24 hours per day via pull cord and this team will deal with any emergencies outside these hours if the emergency cords are activated." Regular Social activities include: Weekly coffee mornings and film evenings, outings to various places of interest, parties with singers and buffets/ hot meals, and fund raising events. We are working with the community church, have scheduled weekly visits from the local kindergarten/nursery children and our customers run both a coffee morning & a luncheon club for the local community and customers, organised by residents and staff. New residents accepted from 55 years of age. Cats only generally accepted, but not to be replaced.
